Hailing From Akron Ohio, Rich P started his musical journey as a founding member of the rap group/crew The Union in the early 2000's. As a collective, they released a few CD's/projects under Rich P's independent record label (Point Gang Entertainment). In a city bubbling with countless local/independent labels and the rappers that they represent Rich P's Point Gang Entertainment managed to put The Union in the forefront of northeastern Ohio's music scene.
Individually speaking, Rich P has seen and transcended the struggles that often plague African American men and the communities that they come from. As he attended Hiram College on an academic scholarship he also set records as a football player that still stands to this day.
As with many African American men making the wrong decisions can cost more than they're worth. The same can be said for Rich P. as he ultimately had to serve time in prison for some of those same types of decision.
While in prison, Rich P was able to reflect, educate and grow personally. He also was able to intellectually build with people from many different perspectives and struggles. As a result he focused more on having something constructive to say in his music.
Now as a soloist, Rich P's music is as street as it always has been but now when you listen you'll be able to get some type of message from it. As an executive Rich P continues to release new music on his Point Gang Entertainment Label & Publishing. Also he owns a merchandise company that helps push and promote his entire brand.
Business is always Business but when it comes to Rich P. he's "The Brand Himself".
